Founded in October 1995 in Rio do Sul, Altermed has grown with a focus on distributing medicines and medical-hospital supplies to both the public and private sectors.
History
Altermed began its history with Anacleto Ferrari in October 1995 in Rio do Sul, SC. Anacleto worked for over 10 years at a distributor in the same industry, but had a desire to build his own business — and so Altermed was born.
The name ALTERMED carries a meaningful story: it was created by combining the first syllables of his parents' names, ALVINO and TEREZINA, followed by MED — from the word "médico" (doctor).
Altermed started operations at Anacleto's home in an area of 200 m², focused on distributing medical and hospital supplies, equipment, and accessories.
Through the dedication of the entire team, the company grew to become a recognized distributor of medical and hospital materials in Santa Catarina and across other Brazilian states.
Today, Altermed occupies a total area of 3,171 m², located at Estrada Boa Esperança, 2320, Fundo Canoas, Rio do Sul – SC. It serves Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, São Paulo, Mato Grosso, and Mato Grosso do Sul.
